During times of crossroads and challenges it's helpful to get inspiration from videos and books. I've always believed that it's always about our perspective and thoughts. We see what we want to see, and hear what we want to hear. Sometimes, however, during times of weakness and doubt hearing words of wisdom from the "older and wiser" is very much enlightening.
Just a few day ago, I visited a friend and she invited me to watch a DVD copy of "Celebrating What's Right with the World." It's a video by Dewitt Jones, a National Geographic Photographer. I loved it! It validated a lot of my thoughts and encouraged me to continue my chosen path. Of course as a photo enthusiast myself, his art and photos helped drive the message further. I can truly relate and I look forward to my future travels and opportunities to see more of the world.
Anyway, the video is truly worth watching. Here is a preview of the video from Youtube by DVDpro but it's better to watch the whole thing.
For more information on Dewitt Jones and the video, you can also visit his website.

Thank you series: Drowning in Love and Positivity
I just completed a one week workshop, hence my blogging silence. (Good thing I saved the dates so will be publishing post-dated blogs in the next few days.
The workshop was deep and intense. I am glad to meet another set of friends who were in the same wavelength as me. The openness to new ideas and sharings taught me so much about life and reminded me of truths about myself. I also feel blessed to meet Jim Paredes and become his student. I appreciate how he patiently listens and answers our questions. I also really admire his mind and creativeness. Damn! The man can do so many things - paint, draw, sing, compose, teach, take photos, write, inspire...
Anyway, I am back blogging and am pleasantly surprised with several tags and awards. Thank you so much fellow bloggers! I will be posting them soon. :)
Gosh, I just feel high. I am surrounded by lots great people who inspire me.

sunnysideup perspectives: Life without Limbs
Just a few hours ago I watched a video of Nick Vuijicic, a man born with no arms or legs. My tears began to fall the moment he tried to raise himself - just one action that meant so much.
It's just amazing how he has been able to keep a loving and positive life that continues to inspire people.
Please watch the video below. (Source of video was www.4marks.com)
You can learn more about him and his cause at this site. Be blessed!

Sunnysideup perspectives: Inspiration from fellow bloggers
In my recent blog I wrote about our past being the fertilizers of our future.
Today I want to share with you a very inspiring blog I just read. It's about perseverance amidst hardship. It's a very inspiring success story of my fellow blogger, Daydreambeliever.
It's story about how a Filipina fought to finish her education and how it can be an inspiration for others like her. I am one of the lucky ones who never had to work for my education and reading stories like this is just so inspiring. I commend people like her. People who use what they have, they strive to reach their dreams.
Read her blog entitled Keeping On.

sunnysideup perspectives: Use your past to fertilize your future
I have subscribed to Bo Sanchez' videos and blogs. I find a lot of inspiration is his articles and teachings.
Today I just watched his video on Youtube that reminds us to take our failures, pains or sins as fertilizers for our future. We can use our past experiences as a learning experience that will help us. We should also remember that God can make ugly things beautiful.
Watch his video and be blessed!
*Bo Sanchez is an author, a speaker and founder of several organizations designed to help the poor and inspire people. Read more about him on his site.

sunnysideup perspectives: I chose to be happy
I started this blog with a commitment to choose happiness. It is my decision to choose to see life positively even when things are not going well or when we don't get what we want. It's easier to choose to rant and be irritated, actually, but I choose otherwise. Once in a while I fail but I get up and try again. Everyday I try to look for reasons to smile and be thankful. I just think that we should live each day with gratitude for all the blessings we have - while we still have them.
In my quest to choose happiness I also carry a few to thoughts to help me, and before this year ends I'd like to share them with you. Maybe it can also help you . . . relax and choose to live with a smile.
1. The grass is always greener somewhere else.
We all know this but we always seem to forget it. There is so much wisdom in this phrase and we should always remember it. To me, it simply reminds me to be grateful and to avoid comparing. It is our nature as humans to always want something. It is good sometimes because it shows ambition and determination, the sad part is we never seem to be satisfied. We always want something else.
Once we acquire or achieve that thing or dream, we want the next big thing. It's a vicious cycle that we can control. Besides if we never decide to settle, we never will - and we may find ourselves constantly in search for something or for someone.
2. Life is not fair.
I remember reading this somewhere and it helped me. It carries truth that may be hard to swallow but its the truth. Life is NOT fair and no one ever said it is. Life is just a journey designed for us to enjoy and learn from. It is not a perfect journey and we should accept this truth. Let go and just enjoy the ride.
3. Be where you are.
We tend to think and worry about so many things that we forget to live today. We think about our next meal, our next career, our next event or activity. We do two or three things at once, and fail to enjoy that moment. A moment that once passed will never come again.
To be where I am is the hardest of all but it has the most impact. It reminds us to focus and give our best today, where we are and to whom we are with.
This would mean that we:

- chew and taste our meals
- enjoy our drives
- smell the flowers
- stop to smile and compliment somebody
- plus so much more!
