Simple things make me happy. Like:
- a feel good friday night relaxing while watching a feel good movie
- a drink of wine while overlooking a great view
- going out on our 100peso (equivalent to 2 USD) challenge dates. That means getting to spend just that much on a date and focusing more on the company rather than the environment or things.
- a cup of vanilla ice cream (sugarfree of course)
- a hug from my hubby
- a compliment from a friend
-drinking my favorite coffee or milk tea
- a comical moment with my dog
and of course,
- a long holiday weekend that provides quality time to reconnect and talk and relax. Something I just had last weekend. It was refreshing :)
Hubby knows how tired I was so he cooked and helped me clean the house. Thanks babe. I'm now fully charged for the week ahead. :)

sunnysideup perspectives: Holiday walks with Hubby
I'm feeling so much better. No attacks and stomach pain for past few days. Even better my hubby had a long holiday weekend so we were able to spend more (quality) time together.
One of the things I cherish most are my walks and talks with my hubby. I just relish and enjoy such moments. I think it's a girl thing. Most women love the attention, the time and the listening ear. Maybe not all women will agree, but I really think that "attentive listening" is one of the best ways for a man to show his love and affection towards their spouse.
It's the "small" things that really matter. A compliment and a listening ear goes a looong way. :)
Anyway, we had a great time. We visited another pagoda here in Zhongshan. We walked and talked for hours, had a plateful of Sushi for dinner, and took lots of photos. By the way, lately my hubby has been influenced by my interest in photography. It's another activity - aside from eating - that we both love. We are now practicing together. Well he is using our point-and-shoot digital camera, while practice on our new DSLR. :)
Here are some of our pics, but I will upload more of them on my photo blog.

Sunnysideup Perspectives: In Sickness and In Health
Last Friday, March 27, I had an attack of severe stomach pain. I think it was Gastritis. It's the same symptoms my hubby got last year. I also recall that, as his wife, was the first time I took him to the hospital. Anyway, last Friday was also the first time I ever had trouble with my stomach. It was terrible. My stomach was ultra sensitive to red meat and other types of food. I resorted to safe diet of oatmeal, banana, boiled egg (whites only) and lots of iodized water. One mistake in food intake would result to stomach pains and throwing up.
I will be seeing a doctor soon. I am going home to Manila for a complete check up.
Anyway amidst all this, I'm thankful and lucky to have a hubby who loves me. This reminds me of our wedding vows, "For richer or poorer, in sickness and in health...." We have committed and vowed to loved and cared for each other, and now he is taking care of me really well. People tell me that I have a great husband, and yes, I definitely agree!

sunnysideup perspectives: First year Wifey Learnings
Today, February 17, is our first wedding anniversary and I'm trying to list down all the changes and things I've learned about myself, my hubby and our marriage.
Here it goes. It's been 365 days since our wedding and:
Here it goes. It's been 365 days since our wedding and:
- The most popular question I get is, "Are you expecting?"
- We just got our wedding album and video which we always view to reminisce.
- We truly enjoyed our wedding but I still wish I can redo my wedding gown.
- We both gained weight.
- We are now based in China and our, rather, my first few weeks here was tough but my hubby helped me with the adjustments.
- I noticed a stigma on women, particularly, housewives.
- I've learned to enjoy life and take it one day at a time.
- I've successfully influenced my hubby with my love for fruits, veggies and ... MILK TEA.
- He has in turn influenced me to eat more donuts and chocolates.
- I've learned that the bathroom and all the activities in there can be a cause of argument between husbands and wives. (It can make and develop wives into a nag)
- I've proven that I am a lucky woman married to a man who can and is willing to cook and wash dishes (sometimes).
- I've also accepted that men are truly addicted to TV or Computers. They need this alone time.
- I appreciate how (amazingly) sweet and mushy my husband still is.
- I believe that there is no issue that an open and trusting communication can't work on.
- I am able to cook food that my hubby can eat (well except for three unsuccessful recipes)
- I've proven that I can stay at home all day (without getting bored) as long as I have an Internet connection.
- I am beginning to enjoy the life of a trailing spouse.
- I love how my support and love inspires my hubby everyday.

sunnysideup tagged: the hubby tag
Can you remember the day you first met your hubby?
We met via email. We were in the same office but it was only during his first office email to me that I realized he existed. :)
When was that? (doesn’t have to be specific)
...That email was sent during my first week at the office.
First impression.
Not my type. I was wrong to think this :)
Were you attracted to him?
Not yet. That time I was not looking and was busy with me and my career.
Were you friends before he became your bf?
Yes. During my stay in the company we had the same circle. I usually saw him after work for night outs or dinner with the group.
What was the sweetest thing he did for you?
As boyfriend and girlfriend, I have 2:
1. He sent surprises - a bouquet of big and beautiful flowers - to my office during my birthdays.
2. I was about to have one lonely and sad Christmas night, so he left his family and decided to spend it with me.
As a married couple:
Just last Sunday, I woke up late and opened my eyes to see a clean house and . . . a breakfast.
What are the things about him that you are thankful for?
1. I know that he is faithful to me.
2. When irrationally sad or irritable he tries to understand me.
3. He's a good guy!
I got this tag from Beth. Thanks sis! Now I'm sharing this tag to anyone who wants to share the love story!
*Now the rules are simple.
1. Foremost, link back to the person who tagged you.
2. Pick your sweetest picture when you were still friends and post it on top of the questions and answers.
3. Another pic now that you are together post it after the questions.
4. Share to how many friends you like. Be sure to link them and send them a comment about the tag.
5. Enjoy doing it :D
6. Let your hubby read it too :D
Enjoy this tag 'cause I did! :D
